Kiehl's Midnight Recovery Concentrate Review

Price-2880 (around $63)

One of Kiehl's bestsellers

I have been eyeing this little blue bottle for quite sometime. The POSITIVE reviews i've read about it has piqued my curiousity even more. So during my recent Kiehl's trip I purposely included this along with the Ultimate White brightening line which I currently LOVE! (I'll post about the essence and moisturizer soon).

Convenient button press on top of  the stopper

I like how it has that "old drugstore" product appeal

I find the midnight blue bottle with its gold letterings very nice to look at. It's like purchasing a medicine during the 1800's. It is so tiny that it could practically fit in the palm of your hands! Very convenient for travellers on the go. Also there's an air of simple dependability written all over it, like you can totally TRUST this thing!

Handy tube dropper

The medicine type dropper is very convenient in drawing out the elixir. Makes application easier and mess free.

It smells good too. The empowering scent of LAVENDER has a very soothing and calming effect which is perfect for bedtime.

Just 1-2 drops is enough

It has an oily feel which gets
absorbed by the skin after awhile

The oily consistency of the serum had me worried at first coz I already have an endless supply of oil under my skin and loading more might equal disaster. But I would DO anything for that extra soft skin...

So off to sleep I went with an oily skin and an extra SHINY face!

You'll wake up to a softer skin...

Upon waking up I immediately caressed my face. Lo and behold! It really felt silky soft and SMOOTH! My skin was no longer greasy. It absorbed all the essential oils while I was sleeping. My cheek felt supple, taut and very much HYDRATED! I didn't even had any of those dreaded zits! (despite the greasy feel) Awesome!

Since I don't have visible lines yet, I can't really tell if it does anything for the wrinkles. And it's still too early to know the longterm benefits it has on me. But for now, i'm enjoying the HEALTHY feeling my skin has each time I wake up. It gives the kind of GLOW that you can only get from a well-rested and pampered skin.

So there you have it my personal take on this popular Kiehl's product. It's definitely a good alternative to your favorite creams and serums! It may be a bit pricey but this tiny bottle will practically last a long time. Thank y'all sweeties! :-)

Btw, to those who've tried it? How did you like it?

Kiehl's Brightening Exfoliator and Cleansing Cream Review

I'm lovin' these products now!

Lately, I enjoy washing my face even more because of these two fabulous cleansers...the Brightening Exfoliator and Cleansing Cream! They fall under Kiehl's Dermatologists Solutions "Ultimate White" line, a regimen that targets to BREAK down pigmentation clusters and INHIBIT melanin formation for a brighter and more translucent skin. Both products contains Vitamin C, Plum fruit and Botanical extracts which are beneficial for skin whitening.

Sounds promising right? but more than that I looove using em' because of their citrus-y smell! It awakens my senses especially during mornings when I'm still half-asleep. I instantly feel energized and refreshed. Leaving me with that perky and happy feeling. Hurrah for that!

This exfoliator really scrubs away dead skin cells

Micro-exfoliating beads

The beads on my skin

First off, it is recommended that you use this exfoliating gel only 2 to 3x a week as it can rather be too harsh or abrasive for everyday use. Only a pea size amount is enough for the whole face. It lathers well as you massage the clear gel in an upward circular motion.

You'd immediately feel those ultra tiny beads (micronized shells) go into action as they try to exfoliate dull and rough skin away! The micro granules are just superb in penetrating even areas that are hard to reach. It seems as if all those stubborn dirt bein' held hostage by my GIANT pores were suddenly released from captivity. Thus resulting in finer, smoother and cleaner looking complexion. I always like to caress my skin after every use coz' it feels sooo velvety soft and squeaky-clean! No kidding!

This cleansing cream is gentle on my skin
Which i really love!

Pearly white cream

Highly effective!

This brightening cleansing cream actually FOAMS which i super like. I hate using facial washes that seems to leave a sticky and oily residue on my skin. Makes me feel as if I'm still NOT clean enough. Hehe!

I use this everyday, morning and night. It delivers a high-performance kind of cleansing that draws out deep-seated dirt and impurities. Whilst at the same time being very gentle on my skin.

It's potent formulation helps to minimize pores, whiten and brighten the skin for a healthy and even-toned complexion. I have to put a big CHECK mark on the things mentioned above as i think my skin looks especially NICER nowadays. Except the pores part...I have yet to see if there'll be any visible changes with the pore size in the following weeks and months to come.

Oh and I've got a cute discount card too!

So there you have it, two new additions to my regular skincare routine, these cleansers will definitely become STAPLE items in my bathroom for years to come... I'm so glad I tried these gems as I can see marked improvements on my skin more and more each day. My face looks BRIGHTER, healthier and more even.

Eventhough it's quite pricey both items are well WORTH it! They work well with the other brands I use. I never had any breakouts or experienced allergic reactions to it. Even Mr G who has super sensitive skin likes it. Thumbs up! Hehe! So if you're dissatisfied with your current facial cleanser it doesn't hurt to give these 2 a shot. Who knows you might get hooked to it too!

Ok that's it for now, I'll be reviewing Kiehl's Brightening Essence and moisturizer sometime soon. Thank you all for dropping by! :-)

MAC Lipstick in Lustering and Faux

Highly wearable colors

Two pretty shades

Swatch swab

Faux up close, nice pale pink nude shade *pardon the allergy*

The MAC Faux lippie is one of those nude pink colors that doesn't look dead on me. Which is quite rare since I almost always end up looking sickly with anything lighter than my normal lip color. The muted pinkish mauve hue looks quite natural and pretty IRL! The coverage is good and it evens out my lip tone. The only downside for me is that I find the satin formulation a bit drying. It chaps my lips after awhile. Which i fix by applying balm beforehand or topping it off with a gloss.

This shade looks great with smokey eyes or deeper more dramatic eyeshadows. Yet it can also look good with neutral and pastel shades. It is one of those versatile lip colors that matches different makeup looks. I don't think this shade will suit everyone though, those with fairer and paler complexions would benefit more with this hue. Although Faux is not my favorite lippie, it is a nice staple in my lipstick collection. My go to color when I need something nude.

Lustering close up shot, has that bright rosy pink color

The MAC Lustering lippie is the complete opposite of Faux. It's on the other end of the spectrum with its vibrant and vivid hue. I love how it instantly perks up my face with its flattering summery tone. It is highly buildable so you can layer and adjust the intensity of the color according to your taste. The hot pink shade is definitely not the cheap type. It is not something you will shy away from because it is the toned down fuchsia/pink/watermelon variety. Which is great for everyday use. The lustre formulation feels creamy and moist on my lips. And i dont see the need for additional lipgloss anymore as this thing alone does the job. It also lasted for several hours. Hmmm... I think this color will look good on any skin color. It has that universal appeal, seems very complexion-of-all kinds friendly!

Normally when I wear this I try to make my eye color as simple and as subtle as possible. I let my lips take the center stage. Beiges, taupes and shells goes well with it. Sometimes I don't even wear eyeshadow anymore. I just line my eyes with kohl, layer on mascara, brush some blush and that's it! Good to GO. Happy to face the world again! I def fancy this lip color.

Thats all folks!

Thanks for dropping by again ladies. I love buying, reviewing, posting and sharing things you might enjoy. There's a lot more to come! See you all again... Hugs! :-)
