Bobbi Brown Creamy Concealer Kit Review

Finding the right concealer is like finding the right jeans. It is so hard! What works for others might not work for me. So I am quite discerning when it comes to concealers coz I know the wrong one has the power to ruin the entire face.

Here comes Bobbi Brown Creamy Concealer Kit:
Price-1850 ( approx $40)

The little black box

For the longest time I've been wanting to try this thing. Have heard a lot of raves about it. So when I finally got one, I was literally trembling with excitement to put it to test.

Organized packaging

Since i'm very particular and fussy about concealer use, I always choose a "safe" day everytime I try something new...I make sure I don't have much activities or places to go to. The lesser interaction the better. So just in case it will be a major flop...at least I won't be embarassed as much. Hehe

Comes with a puff
Creamy concealer on first compartment

I prefer using my ring finger to heat the cream. This way it absorbs and melts more easily with my skin. I noticed that this concealer has a rich and creamy consistency that is not too gooey or pasty...first yipee! A few light pat is enough to cover the entire undereye area. The trick is not to put too much so that it won't crease because it has the tendency to cake when applied thickly. So LESS is really more! Works well for me! With this kind of usage I could just imagine this pot lasting me for centuries!...second yipee!

My concealer shade

The cream blends smoothly and effortlessly. It's buildable and highly pigmented color was great in covering my raccoon eyes evenly, the warm beige shade was a perfect match. EXCELLENT coverage! I also use it to conceal the tiny red veins on my left cheek...third yipee!

Lower compartment comes with loose powder

The finishing powder is meant to set the concealer in place...which I skip because I get annoyed using it. I find it USELESS! It spills everytime I open the lid, it makes my concealer crease, the shade is too yellow and the puff doesn't even fit the container. A waste of space for my makeup pouch. Haha! Next time I'll just settle for the concealer alone. Could've saved more moolah! tsk! tsk!

Perfect match...

This baby lasted me the entire day without the need for reapplication.  It miraculously stayed put. Even with my oily skin! Whoa! Once in awhile I would apply face powder to control the shine. Other than that everything was A-okay...fourth yipee!

I'm very happy i found another concealer that fits me. It's well worth the price. I'm sure I'll be using this for a long long time until the next best thing comes along. I cannot say i've finally found my HG concealer (is there such a thing?) but this one is a major KEEPER...and it works divinely with my La Mer Eye Concentrate!

It's def worth a try, but it's better if you test it out ata' store first. Just to be sure. Hehe...

Thanks for dropping by sweeties! Hugs :-)

Maybelline Power Concealer & was Tagged!

Hello peeps! I decided to do a double post today. So I tried making this one as short as possible so I won't bore you all to death.
Handy tube casing
Sponge tip applicator
Got the ivory shade
Swatch on my skin
Blends after awhile

I bought this Maybelline Power Concealer just for the sake of buying. I know I don't need one coz i still have enough to last me for several years even if I get stranded in an island. But the intriguing mineral line was what got me to buy one. Was so curious about it's results!

So I'll give a quick rundown of my observations...

Pros:
-covered my circles
-matte finish
-handy tube casing
-blends easily
-cheap drugstore product

Cons:
-I wasn't impressed with its thick and grainy looking coverage
-didn't look natural on me
-not picture friendly, from black circles  it became white circles
-not longlasting

Verdict:
Not the greatest product. Just don't expect too much from this concealer. You'll just get disappointed! I'll probably only use it when all the nice concealers in the world becomes extinct and I have no other choice. I didn't feel confident wearing it. In fact, I think it even highlighted my circles by making them look too light. It didn't even last til bedtime. Now, it's a grim reminder of my silly purchase.

But wait...I'd highly recommend this to all the bad girls. To all the bullies out there. Trust me, you will never see anything like this! This product will absolutely make you pretty. It will banish your circles and problems like magic. You'll have the loveliest eyes in town! And im sure you will love me even more after trying this gem. So what are you waiting for? Run to your nearest store before it's too late! ;-)

When I cannot hold it any longer, I got out of the car in the middle of the street and ran as fast as I can to the nearest gasoline station. My friends were all shocked! And our plan was cut short. But when you gotta go, you gotta go!

Barbie Concealer

A very girly looking concealer from Barbie

The first compartment has medium and light brown shade

The second compartment has yellow and lilac shade

While I was strolling at Gateway mall in HK I saw this girly kiosk at the cosmetics area selling Barbie makeup. I never knew that my favorite doll while I was growing up would create a line especially for us girls. I was floored! I had to make a double turn to check if what I was seeing was right. At first I was skeptical if the makeup was targeted only for little girls playing all grown up. But when I asked the SA she casually told me that it caters to teens, young adults and ladies. And i figured that since it's in the adult cosmetics area and not the toy section I might as well give it a try. Plus it doesn't help at all that I still have that inner girly in me which adores anything Barbie and pretty. So I purchased a concealer, eyeshadows and lipstick.

The packaging looks so attractive. It has Barbies perfect face as a model of course. Who wouldn't want to look like her? It has two compartments. Each with different shades of concealers. The first compartment has a light and medium tone combination. You can use each color sparingly or blend the two for the desired shade. I mix mine coz my shade is in between. The second compartment has yellowish and purplish tones. The yellow to counteract undereye circles and the purple to correct reddish undertones or blemishes. I rarely use the second palette as I don't think it's the right color combo for me and the first palette is enough to do the job.

The concealer doesn't offer heavy coverage. It suits the skin of young girls who barely needs any makeup. But it does a decent job in covering unwanted spots and dark circles. I use this on ordinary days when I don't have anything important to go to. I still rely on my trusty old cinema secrets concealer coz im already assured of its great coverage. Somehow there's still a part of me not entirely convinced or totally confident with this product. Maybe because it reminds me of playtime makeups for kids and I'm not taking it seriously. That nagging feeling is quite bothersome everytime I use this.

But overall, this product is okay. It's a great gift for budding teens on the prowl for cutesy cosmetics. In fact I gave my niece one eyeshadow and she totally loved it. :-)

Ice Cream Concealer by Beauty Tech

Small pot concealer

Swatch
Concealer feels thick

This Ice-cream concealer by Beauty Tech is  a great discovery from Sasa. As you can see in the picture its thick consistency is effective for covering pimples and minor blemishes. I even use it to conceal my freckles. It really hides those stubborn spots so what you get is a seemingly flawless skin. It's longwearing so those dark spots will be a no-show for quite sometime. It's so good that I oftentimes forget I have those problem areas only to be reminded again when I wash my face.

I forgot the price of this gem but I remember that it's definitely not expensive. There are several shades to choose from but 03 works best for my light skintone. I also have the 05 shade but it was too late before I realized that the shade is too dark for me so I'm planning to give it away to my sister. I don't think it's advisable to use this for undereye circles coz  it looks cakey and pasty. It is still best as a spot cover. You'll absolutely love this product as much as I do, so if you happen to find one, grab it and see for yourself the wonders it can do! :-)
