I am not really into browns when it comes to eyeshadows. In fact I barely use em' and veer away from anything within this color range. I usually gravitate towards the lilacs, pinks, greens and blues. I just like the more colorful variety. The silly girl in me thinks brown looks boring on my face, that the color is so neutral, that it doesn't really flatter my complexion, that i'm reserving this color someday when I'm tired of using multicolored shadows...and a plethora of unjustified self-made excuses...blah...blah...blah!

But one boring afternoon, while i was lazily flipping thru several magazines at the salon, I saw this eyeshadow being featured as a must have item. I was intrigued. There was something about it that I instantly liked. Maybe it's the casing or the way it was photographed. Suddenly the colors looked so appealing. I don't know why. So I told myself I had to get this product irregardless of the shade and decided that once and for all I should try this palette of browns for a change. And so I did!

Guerlain's super chic compact blew me away at first glance. The elegant gold packaging alone speaks for itself...classy! An eye-catching addition to any makeup bag. And it comes with a black velvet pouch, built-in mirror and two eyeshadow applicators (which is pretty decent to use if you forget your set of brushes).

-gorgeous quad of colors
-well-coordinated classic shades
-super soft, lightweight and silky shadows that seems to MELT on skin
-densely pigmented
-glides SO smoothly
-crease resistance even on oily skin
-can be used from day to night
-longlasting
-love the glimmery effect
-luxurious packaging

-I only use 3 colors from the palette
-I don't really like the applicators
-compact prone to fingerprint marks
-hefty price tag

My Take:

I'm very happy with this product! The  colors are so lovely that it changed my aversion towards brown. I especially dig the subtle shimmer and tiny sparkles coz' it adds an extra spark and oomph to my eyes. Plus, I like the fact that the color stays true. What you see is what you get! Unlike other brands that changes hue upon contact with skin.

My eyes looks brighter and more defined in a natural way that doesn't look boring at all. It surpassed my expectations and quelled my fears. I'm so happy that I can't wait to try their other palettes as well. Right now I'm eyeing the Voilette Du Soir and Rose Boise. Ooops! back to colors again. Hehe!

This is really an excellent product. Definitely worth the extra bucks! You'll be impressed once you try this. It blends like a dream and stays all day. What more can you ask for? Okay that's it for now. Thanks for dropping by prettywittybitches:-)

thanks

I love browns and neutrals, especially shimmery ones! The colors look really pretty - too bad it's so pricey though! :(
